Vechain announces the Galactica phase, with major VIP upgrades in Vechainthor, aimed at improving the tokenomic and the interoperability of the blockchain. Stakeholders to vote on these changes from February 24.
Vechain, a leading actor in the blockchain space, announced an important phase in its development called “Galactica”, marking the start of a transformer trip for the Vechainthor blockchain. According to Official VechainThis initiative is part of the broader Renaissance project of Vechain, aimed at reshaping the technical and economic foundations of the platform.
Galactica Vips: a step towards evolution
The Galactica phase introduces four key vechain improvement proposals (VIP) which promise to considerably improve the blockchain capabilities. These include the dynamic market for gas costs, typed transactions, an EVM upgrade and an update of the extension contract. Each of these proposals is designed to optimize Vechainthor’s performance, increase its compatibility with other blockchain technologies and provide a more robust frame for future developments.
VIP-251: Dynamic costs market
Inspired by EIP-1559 of Ethereum, VIP-251 offers a market for dynamic costs to replace the current fixed model. This change should make network transactions more efficient and profitable by adjusting costs according to network demand, 100% of the basic costs being burned to promote the deflationary effects. This proposal also aims to improve networks safety by making spam attacks financially impossible.
VIP-252: Dactylographed transactions
VIP-252 introduces a new transaction format that simplifies blockchain interactions and improves network capacity to integrate new features. This modular approach should facilitate transparent upgrades and maintain network stability, establishing a solid base for future innovations.
VIP-242: EVM compatibility
Alignment with the Shanghai version of Ethereum, VIP-242 updates the EVM capacities of Vechainthor, allowing greater innovation and cross integration. This upgrade will allow developers to take advantage of Ethereum native tools and applications, widening the scope of the Vechainthor ecosystem.
VIP-25: Improvements of the extension contract
This proposal focuses on improving the effectiveness of developers by introducing new functions that simplify the execution of the contract. It represents Vechain’s commitment to provide an environment suitable for developers who support the creation of complex decentralized applications.
Involvement of stakeholders and following steps
The voting process for these VIP upgrades is expected to start on February 24, inviting all stakeholders, including the masternods of authority, economic nodes and X nodes, to participate in the shaping of the future of Vechainthor. This democratic approach underlines the dedication of Vechain to community commitment and decentralized governance.
As part of the Renaissance of Vechain, the Galactica phase is only the beginning, with future phases such as Hayabusa and Interstellar promising other progress. Stakeholders are encouraged to join discussions and participate in upcoming events, including an AMA session with the CEO of Vechain, Sunny Lu, to obtain more in -depth information on the trajectory of the project.
